Robin J Nelson
Author, Writer, Poet, and Singer Songwriter
I love to write…
Laugh… You have to when you climb past the dizzy heights of sixty-five.
But really, who am I?
My name is Robin John Nelson. The John is hereditary from my mother’s side but where Robin came from heaven knows. I was told it had something to do with a pantomime in which my mum was playing.
I am a Brit and currently live in New Zealand; I am what you might call, a senior, a silver surfer, and old git. And there are thousands of us all over the world. You might be one of them. If you are then ‘Hello, and Welcome.’
Work In Progress
An historical thriller with a touch of mysticism and adventure set against a background of witchcraft and rebellion.
The Briar Patch
Do what your Grandma tells you
A Heap of Ants
A short story for children about a heap of ants lost at sea.
A thought provoking story about the perils of old age.
I was born in a hole in a tree and was brought up by a wicked witch. But, she loved me so she was only wicked to other people.
As I grew, the tree became too small so we carved out an internal staircase and moved up through the branches to where we had a better view. Mum scrounged a few bits of wood and some nails and we soon had a penthouse of our very own.
Then one day, she said I had to get a job. I tried mushroom picking, a manicurist for frogs, and even a lead singer in a girl band. In the end I picked up my old guitar and became a song writer, telling stories in song behind dustbins and derelict buildings before turning my hand to becoming a writer of the spoken word.
And there you have it. My life story in a nutshell.
P.S. And I am AWESOME
